Grupo Oriental

Com o início das atividades do Centro de Referência do Idoso – CRI, a Sra. Terezinha Shiguematsu e Sra.Yoshiko Hada passaram a freqüentar a casa e foram trazendo as amigas. O assistente social que trabalhava na época, Carlos Takeo Ishikawa, queria aprender a folk-dance. Sra Terezinha levou-o para assistir a uma amiga dela que sabia dançar. Ele convidou-a para vir ensinar no CRI. Vieram 6 pessoas que ensinaram os idosos por aproximadamente 3 anos.
Aprenderam também dança folclórica, convidaram outras pessoas para participar e o gripo foi crescendo e ganhou o nome de Grupo Oriental. As pessoas que viram gostaram e quiseram entrar, mesmo não sendo orientais. Passaram a fazer e a ensinar a culinária típica e origami. O grupo é composto por idosos com idade média de 68 anos e possui alguns integrantes nascidos no Japão.
